The Biggest Gaming News For May 5, 2022

The weekend is almost here for us, so here’s some exciting news you’ll need to skip. The biggest story in today’s roundup logically reports that a new Mafia game is currently in the early stages of development, with the Hangar 13 series continuing as a developer.

We’ve also heard that Fortnite is back on iOS devices for Epic’s partnership with Xbox Cloud Gaming and to announce that you can go to the movies to see The Game Awards this year. More details of these stories and much more if you read.

Mafia has been in prequel development since Hanger 13

Mafia fans can rejoice because Hanger 13 is said to have a new game in the early stages of development. A recent report suggested that the game be a prequel and that the project is currently being worked on under the name Nero. The report comes shortly after the publisher announced the departure of Hayden Blackman, founder of 2K Hanger 13, who will now “follow his passion in a new endeavor.” Not much more than that, but it seems that Hanger 13 didn’t give up the series after the disappointment of Mafia 3.

Fortnite is back on Apple devices after an Xbox cloud gaming partnership

Apple has an egg in its mouth due to the recently announced partnership between Epic Games and Microsoft, which is looking to return to Fortnite iOS devices for Xbox cloud gaming. Apple recently removed Fortnite from the Apple Store due to a lawsuit between the company and Epic Games in an attempt to cut the mandatory 30 percent deduction from in-game transactions. With the cloud and a supported web browser, Fortnite is now available again on iOS devices.

Summer Game Fest and Game Awards will be streamed live on IMAX movies.

If you’ve ever thought The Game Awards might make your solo scenes look like another event, Geoff Kigley has decorated you this year. The presenter announced earlier today that both the Summer Game Fest and The Game Awards will be streamed to participating IMAX movies in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada later this year, bringing these two high-profile events to the big screen. The Summer Game Fest will be held on June 9, with the Game Awards later this year, probably as usual in December.

Game of Thrones Spin-Off House of the Dragon reveals details of the first trailer plot

Now it’s time for some TV news and the hype Game of Thrones is ramping up for Spin-Off House of the Dragon as HBO drops a new trailer detailing the show’s plot. The trailer features Carlisle Valerion, Riocard Stark, and Boremund Barathion. Before taking the oath of allegiance to King Visaris Targaryen, he announced his daughter, Princess Raheneira Targaryen, as his successor. House of the Dragon will air on HBO Max on August 21 and, like the original series, seems to be full of bloodshed and political ups and downs.

Stone Cold Steve Austin is a breath of fresh air

A bit of a fun story to end today’s roundup, and if you don’t think Breath of the Wild is the best Zelda game, you should now explain yourself to Stone Cold Steve Austin. The former WWE Superstar recently announced his love for Breath of the Wild during a conversation with current wrestler Cody Rhodes, who claimed to be his favorite Okarina of Time. For the price, the best game is Wind Walker, although I’m rarely going to argue with a guy like Stone Cold about it.
