Lufthansa Group and travel management firm TripAction have launched a new travel booking platform designed for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The BusinessToGo booking portal development partnership was first announced in December and went live on Wednesday (May 4) for customers in the German-speaking DACH region (Austria, Germany and Switzerland) and Belgium.
This allows companies to earn and use Lufthansa Group Partner PlusBenefit Corporate Loyalty Points as well as manage their overall travel program.
Corporate clients can choose between two BusinessToGo platform levels: Required and Premium packages.
Both versions allow access to all flights from Lufthansa Group’s airlines and joint venture partners, including NDC fares, as well as hotel, train and car rental content from TripAction. Members of the PartnerPlusBenefit program will also be able to collect and redeem their points on the platform.
The premium package provides support for enhanced on-boarding and platform configuration, as well as access to offers from other airlines. Customers pay a 22 fee per trip to get unlimited use of TripActions offline servicing support.
The platform also offers reporting and analytics capabilities for companies to monitor their travel programs, including costs, compliance and carbon emissions.

Mark Goldberger, head of TriPactions’ strategic account, said the new tool was “very similar” to TMC’s existing platform but added some “uniqueness” to the new Lufthansa portal.
“Machine learning and artificial intelligence are used to personalize bookings based on each traveler’s preferences, loyalty points, past bookings and peer bookings,” he explains.

Lufthansa says NDC is the “engine” behind the new booking platform and about 40 clients have already signed up for BusinessToGo within hours of the launch.
