AHLA Foundation Names Anti-Trafficking Campaign Head


The American Hotel and Lodging Association Foundation, a charity of AHLA, has appointed Eliza McCoy, an anti-human trafficking professional, as VP of the awareness and prevention program, the foundation announced Monday.

In this newly created location, McCoy will expand the AHLA Foundation’s No Room for Trafficking Campaign, the industry’s national initiative to stop human trafficking. One of the objectives of the campaign is to ensure that every member of the hotel staff is trained to identify and stop trafficking.

Prior to joining the AHLA Foundation, McCoy served as Executive Director of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Director of Operations and Development at the Center for Children in Alexandria, and as Director of the International Center for Missing and Exploited Children. . According to the foundation, he has served as a nonprofit leader with expertise in law enforcement, program-centered fundraising, communication and development.

McCoy will lead an effort to create a living fund for victims of human trafficking. According to AHLA, the fund is intended to provide long-term support and economic stability to survivors during the progress of training and education to prevent human trafficking in the housing industry.
